CHRISTY CLOWN & FRIENDS WHOLESOME FAMILY FUN SINCE 1975 "Christy Clown" was created for a Christmas performance in 1975 by former Chicago singer/actress Jana Lapel. Drawing on five years of experience with a children's theatre company in Chicago…she agreed to perform for her first booking as a solo children's performer. Thinking she was just doing this one-time "gig" to help out her agent/friend, she had no idea this event would be the start of a career lasting more than 30 years. Jana as "Christy" soon added a piano player and 2 dancers to her performances creating the "Christy Clown and Friends" Troupe. Choreographer/dancer Kim Bugeaud has performed with the troupe from the early years and often appears with her daughter Nicole or her niece Emily Armstrong. The piano player clown, "Dandy Andy", is "played" by well known jazz pianist/composer and recording artist Andrew Glover. (www.andrewglover.ca ) You may also catch another well known jazz pianist and educator at the keyboard… Charlie Austin as "Professor Piano"! Jana's daughter, Melissa Millman heads up the face painting crew. (see photos ) The troupe's talent pool allows for flexibility in creating the right entertainment for your event. With more than three decades of performances behind them….there is a long list of references available. Choose from: Christy's Solo performances …for small groups such as home birthday parties Christy with Dandy Andy… (Andrew Glover) … live keyboard accompaniment (This performance is suitable for larger groups such as schools, churches, corporate and promotional events, children's festivals and seniors' gatherings) Christy Clown & Friends …Stage shows featuring 3 to 4 performers Christy's musical shows promote positive behavior, self esteem, friendship, laughter and love! Melissa's Face Painting Crew ...available for summer picnics, birthday parties and Christmas events Christmas Theme Shows (Book early…dates are often booked a year in advance for the troupe) The show takes on a colorful festive look as 2 dancing elves join Christy and Dandy Andy to create high energy interactive entertainment for your celebration of the season! The Christy Clown Troupe” presents a 45 minute musical show for families, schools and corporate and community events. (Suitable for larger audiences) Features: singing, dancing, comedy, a puppet show, and subtle “value concepts” making this an inspiring and entertaining show with “heart”! “Face painter, Melissa, (Jana’s daughter) and her talented crew deliver a “brush with fun”!
